Hello my beautiful friends!
I have a lovely suggestion for you today. Especially if you are gluten free!
Mama Campo has three parts: an ecological shop, a snack bar and restaurant in the Malasana district of Madrid. This time we’re just going to talk about the shop.
Firstly, there are pretty lights : )
Mama Campo aims to bring ecological, organic products closer to people living in the city. They use all the products from their shop, which are certified organic, in their snack bar and restaurant, and boy do they have a lot of gorgeous, healthy things to choose from!
Let’s start with the fresh fruits and vegetables: you can find everything you need in the wooden crates and in the fridge section. Everything is well priced for organic quality.
Then, if you are gluten free, I have a surprise for you! Real handmade, artisan, gluten free bread, without any of the nasties you usually find in mass-produced gluten free bread. Just fresh, simple, natural, ingredients. The bread is nice and spongy, not dry. Like real, normal, freshly baked bread! I know!
There are lots of kinds to choose from: a farm loaf, a square loaf, small buns with dried tomato, small buns with olive, small buns with seeds, and burger buns : ) And the best part? The cost! They cost the same as the mass-produced, supermarket gluten free bread!
And don’t forget the most delicious lactose free and gluten free muffins, in blueberry, lemon, apple and chocolate, by the till. One euro a pop!
In the rest of the shop you can find a fantastic range of vegan and vegetarian foods. For the meat eaters out there, there are farm produced cheeses and cooked/uncooked meat cuts.
The best part for me (apart from the magical gluten free bread!) was the staff. I was served by a friendly smiley woman called Carlotta, who helped me pack my bag and choose the gluten free bread. I really recommend it! : )
